Robert Shaw began his serious interest in photography while studying and working at lithography in the USAF. Early photographic work was a combination of European landscapes and the technical demands of lithographic printing. Photographic studies continued at Western Washington University while earning a bachelor's degree.

After teaching, photographing and fishing in Alaska he returned to school and received his master's degree. He then taught printing and photography at Clark College, Vancouver, Washington. Later he accepted an appointment at Western Washington University to develop and implement a new interdisciplinary Visual Communication program. There he taught photography, graphic arts and held several photographic shows.

After he earned his doctorate from Oregon State University, he established a new Visual Communication Technology and Photography program for Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. He chaired the department and taught visual communication technology, photography, and color printing classes until he retired from teaching.

At present, he continues to do consulting for the printing industry and continues to do photographic work. He has been a judge for many competitive photographic and printing events including three times for the Oregon Salon of Photography. His photography has been selected for show in international exhibits.

Your print will be made with the latest UV resistant ink and printed on museum quality substrate. In addition, your print will have an anti-UV coating. However, no print should ever be placed so the direct rays of the sun fall on the print at any time of the day.
